# Welcome to Infinite Runner Engine 2D

### Infinite Runner Engine 2D — Update 8.0

Create a 2D runner using the existing component framework, demos and 14-tab editor workspace. Update 8.0 adds a shared dark-and-yellow editor design, Smart Custom Editor guidance, independent prefab copying, safer terrain cleanup, projectile flight limits, one-time enemy death and recovery-aware level progress.

[Start here: Getting Started / How to start?](https://denvzla-estudio.gitbook.io/infinite-runner-engine-2d/how-to-start) → configure the runner → create your content → test → build.

### What is included

* Run and FlappyBirds character modes; character, camera, terrain, backgrounds and combat components.
* Coin/life pickups, chests, melee/shooter weapons, projectiles and a coin-based shop.
* Level unlocks and best ratings with stable campaign/level identities and recoverable save migration.
* Optional Advertisement Legacy integration. Unity IAP package management is present; a built-in real-money purchase/receipt/restore implementation is not included.
* English offline Documentation.pdf, current screenshots and online step-by-step tutorials.

### Compatibility and release status

This documentation describes the reviewed Unity 6000.5.5f1 Built-in project. It does not promise support for every older editor, clean import or device. Remaining legacy serialization, unresolved references, TMP setup and 2D/3D shared asset GUIDs still require release validation. The engine retains legacy Input Manager; do not switch to New Input System-only to hide a warning.

### Earlier release history — retained for reference

The entries below describe past releases, not additional promises for 8.0. Historical claims that “all warnings” were fixed or that Console messages were removed are not a current clean-import guarantee. Update 8.0 resolves causes and reports remaining issues; it does not recommend hiding messages.

* 7.6: Unity 6 support; project updated to Unity 6000.0.43f; editor fixes and warning cleanup were reported.
* 7.5: project updated to Unity 2022.3.49f1.
* 7.0: updated demos and editor fixes; project updated to Unity 2022.3.38f; level creation, runtime saving, unlocking and star ratings; input assignment/touch controls; redesigned UI windows and missing-reference checks; scene-configured banner, rewarded and interstitial Ads with an animated rewards window.
* The older input announcement mentioned gamepads. The current supplied character reads configured KeyCodes or SimpleInput touch axes; FlappyBirds uses click/tap. Verify a gamepad mapping explicitly instead of assuming a separate gamepad mode.
